Do we distinguish at all between different unit types, like the Green Ronin system has us do, or are we using traditional LoW battle rules?

Galleons will have advantages of galleys and the IB longships will be better than normal longships, but we're sorting the details.
For simplicity's sake they may just be even, but we'll see.

Troops will be broken up into three different branches that you can train them into, with certain specialty troops being allowed depending on the Region and Warfare ability. (Note: All troops will start out as Peasant levy unless they have had training.) Each unit of troops will give a bonus to their commanders Warfare rolls depending on the type of orders that their army is committing in that round of combat. The Units Cavalry: (Units of 20)- Take 2 months to train from Peasant Levy
- Attack based unit with limited defense capabilities
- Takes a month to upgrade to each upgraded level

Archers (Units of 100)
Takes 1 month to train from Peasant Levy Well rounded unit capable of both offensive and defensive movements Takes one month to upgrade to next level and two months for third upgrade
Infantry (Units of 500) Takes 1 month to train from Peasant Levy Unit that is best served with defensive movements Takes one month of training for each upgraded level.
Specialty Troops:
Scouts (Unit of 20): Gives bonus for doing scouting things. Brigands (Unit of 50): Gives bonus for doing raiding things. Pikeman (Unit of 50): Note: Keep away from horses.
Rounds of Combat:
The one thing I don't want to do is limit what our generals can do on a battlefield, (Mainly because y'all are smarter then me and well... would come up with scenarios that I really wouldn't even dream about) So for the sake of simplicity any order that you come up with decide if it falls under an Attacking or Defensive order and we will work it from there..
